Telehandler - Sherwood

We are looking for an experienced, hard-working and reliable Telehandler Driver to join our team on a long-term project running through to April.

This is a busy site environment and the successful candidate will need to be confident operating a telehandler around large numbers of people, trades and site activity. Safety, awareness and good communication are extremely important, so we are looking for someone with plenty of experience who understands the responsibility that comes with operating machinery around others.

The working hours are 7:00am – 7:00pm, 7 days a week, so this role is suited to someone who is prepared for long working days and regular site attendance. We need someone who is dependable, turns up on time and is willing to work hard throughout the project.

This is a very long-term opportunity for the right person. Although the normal working pattern is 7 days a week, weekends off can be accommodated when requested and agreed with the Site Manager in advance. There will also be a 2-week break over Christmas.

We are looking for a driver who takes pride in their work, works safely and efficiently, and can be trusted to carry out their responsibilities without constant supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating the telehandler safely and efficiently on site
  • Moving and placing materials as directed
  • Working safely around pedestrians, trades and other machinery
  • Carrying out daily checks and reporting any issues
  • Following site rules, instructions and health & safety procedures
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working area
  • Assisting the wider site team when required
  • Working professionally and responsibly throughout the shift

Requirements

MUST HAVE:

  • Valid Telehandler Licence
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • Extensive experience operating a telehandler
  • Strong experience working around people and busy construction sites
  • Good understanding of site safety and machinery awareness
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Hard-working and prepared to work long hours
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to follow instructions from the Site Manager
  • Professional attitude and strong work ethic

Working Hours & Project

Hours: 7:00am – 7:00pm
Working Pattern: 7 days a week
Weekends: Can be taken off by prior agreement with the Site Manager
Christmas: 2-week Christmas break
Project: Long-term project running until April

This role is ideal for an experienced Telehandler Driver who wants consistent long-term work and is prepared to put in the hours. Reliability is extremely important — we need someone who will turn up every day, work hard and operate the machine safely and professionally.

Telehandler Licence and CSCS Card are essential. Candidates without both will not be considered.
